Reverse Bay Parking

1. Choose a parking bay on your left

2. Line up side mirror (as an object) with the line on the far side of the park you have chosen (your car will be blocking the park like in pic of car POSITION 1 and RED dotted line).

3. Turn wheels full lock to the right

4. Roll forward carefully – watching for oncoming cars and those parked opposite, use side mirror to line up bum of car almost with the line you used to line up against in point 2 – YELLOW line POSITION 2.

5. One and a half rotations to the left will bring wheels back to straight, you will probably need to turn another half turn or more (depending on width of car park driving lanes).

6. After checking all your surrounds, reverse slowly watching in your left side mirror to assist in lining up bum of car into the car park chosen. You will probably need to continue slowly turning wheel to left and as you become inline with parking bay then straighten up wheel – follow GREEN line to end in POSITION 3. Check your right side mirror also when doing this.

*The little round blind spot mirrors help greatly with this as you can see the lines of the car park in them.

*If you get into the park and feel very crooked or one sided, there is absolutely no rule that says you can not drive forward and adjust and come back into the bay.

*If using Reverse Camera that has lines that move: At point 5: move wheels so that lines of camera line up with lines of parking bay (yellow line in diagram) and reverse keeping lines from reverse camera in contact with lines of car park bay. Yellow line on this sheet shows where left side of the camera would follow.
