What You Need On The Day Of Your Driving Test

18-20 years

You must have a completed Driving Log Book (issued when you got your learner's permit) that shows 120 hours of driving, with each driving entry signed off by your supervising drivers.  This shows a record of 120 hours or more and includes 20 hours of night driving (100 hours day + 20 hours night = 120 hours)

 

OR have completed 120 Hours via the VicRoads Learner's App.

* If you have a mix of hours in paper log book and on app, you will require your book to be verified by VicRoads.

You must also bring with you, your current Learner's Permit Card

​

You must also have passed your Hazard Test within the past 12 months.

21 + years

A Log book is not Required.

Overseas Licence Holder (Verified by Vic Roads)

There is quite a number of scenarios for this that involve Country of Licence, Age of Driver, Licence Verified by Vic Roads outcome, Residency length in Australia.   Please see VICROADS Link for more details.

Providing your Overseas Licence has been Verified by VicRoads, you still must have Passed your Knowledge Test and your Hazard Test within the past 12 months before doing your Drive Test.

What Car Can I Drive For My Test?

You can drive your own Roadworthy car as long as it meets VicRoads Criteria - See VicRoads link here -->

Otherwise you can attend your Test with a Driving Instructor who will supply a car with dual controls and accompany you on the Drive Test.

VicRoads DO NOT supply Cars for Drive Tests.
